After 18 years as a stay-at-home mum, re-entering the workforce to provide an income for your growing family is no mean feat, but Kellie Newman has managed to do it with both grace and gusto.
Drawing on a background in sales and customer service, Kellie launched into her role as a Penny Miller Distributor full-speed-ahead. Her natural affinity to relate to people and create meaningful moments propelled her Penny Miller franchise into near-instant success. But after two years working very successfully as a Distributor, Kellie was given the opportunity to move up the ranks and become an Area Coordinator; an opportunity which she jumped at. “I’m really lucky,” she says “I’ve been able to work within sales positions very successfully.”
Kellie’s knack for sales is irrefutable. Before she left the workforce to become a stay-at-home mother, Kellie was a veterinary surgical nurse, but her boss would put her on the front counter to sell products because she was so great with people.
Today, still, it’s Kellie’s friendly and compassionate manner that continues to make her Penny Miller franchise one of the best in the country. Kellie goes far above and beyond the expected to provide her Distributors every ounce of training they need to confidently move into their roles. “I try to train my Distributors well and to do their job right from the first time,” she says. “I pick up their books on the Monday with them, I pick up their books on the Tuesday with them and I do their first lot of call-backs with them on the Tuesday. And then if they’re still feeling uncomfortable, I’ll go back the Wednesday and work with them again, and as long as they need me to know what they’re doing.” Kellie’s dedication to training her staff is unwavering.
Kellie’s commitment to training her team is unwavering, and her fierce dedication is reflected in her team’s phenomenal sales figures. “It just goes to show that you get out what you put in. You invest your time and you invest your knowledge of how you’ve worked out that you can do things better. If you can share that, you can end up with pretty awesome people.” Despite all her hard work, Kellie remains humble in attributing her success to her team of five Distributors (soon to grow to a team of nine).
Kellie is looking at becoming a Zone Manager in the future, but for the meantime she enjoys her Area Coordinator role because it allows her to interact with her team of Distributors and her (extremely loyal) customer base in the Caboolture-Morayfield area. “The thing that keeps me going,” she says speaking about her experience as an AC, “is the fact that I love my customers. I’ve got beautiful customers.” In recognition of her hard work and many successes, Kellie has recently been given a wider area to coordinate.
